SMART Method for Writing Your Vision
I encourage you to pursue your God Divine Purpose with all faith and diligence. Begin TODAY with “Writing the Vision(s)” that God has been speaking to you. Then use the following goal-setting method to make them SMART (as supported by scripture):
SPECIFIC – “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets.” (who, what, where, when, which, why.)
MEASURABLE – “That He may run who reads it.” (reach your target dates and experience the exhilaration of achievement that motivates you to reach your goals.)
ATTAINABLE – “For the vision is yet for an appointed time.” (consider the things you need to do to make them come true.)
REALISTIC – “But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.” (a labor of love – you will accomplish only what you are both willing and able to work.)
TIMELY – “Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” (smaller achievements are easier to accomplish; however with bigger dreams and goals create several small objectives; stick with and complete each one until they bring you to your expected result. DON’T GIVE UP!
Habakkuk 2:2-3 ”Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”
